How does AonHive use Firebase?
Firebase development for messaging and managed services on mobile and web products.
Firebase is the managed path when it matches the product. On Sevenco, status changes go out as push through FCM, because the rider or the chauffeur is often in another app. We use the service for that job. We do not move the ride record out of Postgres to follow it.Discuss this stackHow we use it
Push is for the phone that is not looking.

Send the event, not the record
A push says the trip changed. The app reads the row when it opens. The notification is not a second copy of the fare.

Handle a dead token
A token expires. The send fails. We drop that token and keep the row. A failed push is not a failed trip.

Choose it for the operating model
Auth, messaging, or another managed service is adopted when the team can own it. A second database beside the record is a split we avoid.
